Professional & Personal Qualifications

Native Oregonian - I grew up as Leslie DeMain in the little town of Boring (yep, it's a real place!), about 20 miles southeast of Portland. Recently, a laundry company has made an ad titled "A Postcard from Boring." Check it out below!  I've lived in or around the Portland metro area my whole life--so am very familiar with Portland, Gresham, Oregon City, West Linn, Lake Oswego, Wilsonville, Beaverton, Troutdale,Milwaukie, Fairview, Tualatin, Clackamas, Canby, Tigard, Woodburn, Salem, Keizer, and other outlying areas. If you're considering a move to our beautiful state, I can share a lifetime of knowledge and experience about the area and real estate market with you. (And in case you've heard it rains here sometimes...you can get the statistics at the National Weather Service.)

Experience - Licensed since 1998, I have acquired John L. Scott Top Agent awards since 2001. I continue to be one of the top agents in my office. I ranked #3 at the Clackamas office in 2009, #3 (#1 female) at the Town Center office in 2007, and #2 at the Gresham office in 2005 and 2006--thanks mostly to great friends and clients who use and recommend my services. I was a Director for the East Metro Association of REALTORS from 2009-2012, the past Chairman of our local Multi-Million Dollar Club, a member of our local Governmental Affairs Committee and my office's representative for the John L. Scott President's Advisory Council. I belong to the East Portland Chamber of Commerce, was also a member of a Fraud Prevention Group made up of real estate and law enforcement professionals. I attend Continuing Education classes, review real estate news and statistics regularly, which help keep me updated about the constantly changing market and real estate laws.

Quality Service - It's more than just keying the data in a listing and snapping a few photos. And it's more than just walking you through a handful of houses until you find one you think you could live in. Great service is about lending a keen eye and an objective perspective over the processes - and keeping you in the loop! It's about sharing information regarding your home's competition, about new homes that come on the market, about presenting and responding to offers and steps towards closing in a timely and professional manner.

Skilled Negotiator - It's all in the presentation! With over 20 years in the real estate industry as as a mother of three, I have honed some pretty awesome negotiation skills that I use quite extensively. Dealing with the parties in a real estate transaction isn't always as simple as it should be--so you need someone who will keep things on an even keel!

Mobile & Techno-Savvy - I love technology and take classes to keep up with it.  I'm on just about every platform, so you can find me easily. Truth be known, I love to have a live conversation but hate voice-mail.  Text me and I'll call you back. E-mail me and your message might get lost in the 200+ e-mails that dump into my inbox everyday.

Challenge Junky - "They" say there's a Buyer for every Property and a Property for every Buyer. Whether it's finding the property that fits all your needs or selling one that's a little on the unique side, I'm willing to rise to the challenge to help make it happen!

Detail-Oriented - I've been referred to as a "sponge for knowledge" once or twice. Whatever the topic, I want to know as much about it as I can so that understanding is complete and/or nothing is missed. During a real estate transaction, there are timelines and contract details to manage and monitor.

Analytical - Mathematics has always been one of my strong points (straight A's right up through Calculus!). Gauging the market by what's happening TODAY will be essential to getting a home priced correctly and sold in a timely manner. Tweaking the numbers just right when writing an offer is also vastly important. This is when we talk about Listing Inventory and Days on Market Averages!

Creative - I could have been an English Major! I love to write and have journalism and photography experience. Building an advertisement and flyer and Website for your property will be my pleasure! (See Techno-Savvy above!)

Giving & Involved - I have been extremely blessed in my life even though there have been hurdles.  Giving back to my community is vital to my spiritual well-being and I support the John L. Scott Foundation, Doernbecher's Children's Hospital, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and my local church.

Honest - Last but not least! As a concerned and caring human being and wife of a retired police officer, my integrity and honesty are integral parts of my character. As your representative, trust is essential to our having a successul relationship.

Personal - I love photography, writing, tennis and hiking, as well as family road trips and working on my rural acreage in the coast mountains. I also love to read and garden and play board games.
